DHT Type Wire Drawing Powder
Solid lubricants are powdered lubricants used for dry wire drawing. Its composition is a variety of single metal soaps or metal soaps with some additives. Metallic soaps are metallic salts of fatty acids. Metal soaps used as lubricants require a high softening point and transfer temperature (the temperature at which the coefficient of friction suddenly rises), good wear resistance and pressure resistance. The commonly used metal soaps for wire drawing lubricants are sodium and calcium soaps. Sodium soap is caussoda and saturated fatty acid glycerin C17H35COO) combined sodium stearate C17H35OONa, is a water-soluble soap, easy to remove, suitable for medium speed and temperature rise is not too high dry drawing, or subsequent coating operation of steel wire drawing. Calcium soaps are calcium stearate made by combining calcium hydroxide or calcium oxide with glycerin stearate. Others include barium stearate, zinc stearate, aluminum stearate and other metal soaps. Calcium soap can form a thick lubricating film, has good extensibility and lubricity, so it is often the main component of solid lubricants. Calcium soap is insoluble in water and not easy to be washed away. It is not suitable for drawing steel wire before coating.
